c.weird:
At six years old, Christopher Weir (c.weird, he/they/we) moved to the Bay Area where he began having recurring night terrors that would eventually be the gateway to a lifelong lucid dreaming practice. Before being awarded highest honors and distinction at UC Berkeley, he would use lucid and liminal dreaming as an active part of his creative and academic practice while studying poetry, creative writing, experimental performance, and improvisational music.
In 2015 he served as a Cultural Ambassador to West Africa with the US Embassies as his band toured with American Music Abroad (FKA Jazz Ambassadors). He would return to the Bay Area to create artwork for Bill Nye, Doja Cat, Green Day, Social Distortion, Toro y Moi, and become the Art Director for The UC Theatre in Berkeley, where he established a Fillmore-style commemorative poster tradition.
c.weird’s interdisciplinary practice is impelled by his 28 years of engagement with lucid + liminal (hypnagogic + hypnopompic) dream-states. His nearly three decades of daily dream practice is a continued evolution of various modalities used by Dalí, Edison, da Vinci, Tesla, Edgar Allen Poe + more; Jungian active imagination; and what director Alejandro Jodorowsky calls “psychomagic.”
With 14 years of teaching + facilitation experience including half a decade as an instructor + workshop leader at UC Berkeley, 8 years as a student of the tarot, and a lifetime of interdisciplinary artistic expression, c.weird's unique approach to inner-inquiry is both naturally intuitive + highly informed by his journey of reconnecting to his ancestral wisdom traditions including Judeo-Christian mysticism, various schools of magick, yoga, musical improvisation, and emerging nonlinear sciences.
He creates, writes, dreams, designs, prints, plays, and hand binds his books at his home-studio-gallery, MHAH Gallery, in Oakland, California.
